Long Wave 1750 Meter Radio
Transmitter ProjectBased on an idea by Bruce Dog Radio Studio 2 - Updated 2-2-12

U.S. F.C.C. RULES Part 15.217 Operation in the band 160 - 190 kHz.
(a) The total input power to the final radio frequency stage (exclusive of filament or heater power) shall not exceed 1 Watt;
(b) The total length of the transmission line, antenna, and ground lead (if used) shall not exceed 15-meters;
(c)
All emissions below 160 kHz or above 190 kHz shall be attenuated at
least 20 dB below the level of the unmodulated carrier. Determination
of compliance with the 20 dB attenuation specification may be based on
measurements at the intentional radiator's antenna output terminal
unless the intentional radiator uses a permanently attached antenna, in
which case compliance shall be demonstrated by measuring the radiated
emissions.
Project Information: This project grows out of this continuing thread at part15.us, website for Part 15 low power
enthusiasts in the U.S.
Longwave Broadcast DX 171 kHzPLEASE POST ALL CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING THIS PROJECT AT THAT THREAD.
There are adjunct threads opened at part15.us with more long wave transmitter discussion.
Palomar 1750 Meter Transmitter1750 Meter TransmittersThe objective is to modify the
Big Talker transmitter found on this KDX website, by changing the Oscillator and Final.
As of this time Radio8Z has submitted a simulation of
a possible final stage for DEEP VOICE.
PROJECT UPDATE 2-2-12 - As of this time the project lacks a long wave oscillator circuit.

Submitted for Your Review

Version
2.0.0 is based on a modification suggested by RFB, 12-31-11, to employ
the PLL circuit linked below in place of a crystal.
The PLL circuit requires design of a LW oscillator, as yet not done. For now this is shown as IC2.

The oscillator circuit is taken from Simple LowFER Transmitter by Lyle Koehler, K0LR
http://www.nutstreet.net/k0lr/lftx.htmAs of 2-1-12 this link seems dead.
UPDATED
PLAN 2-2-12 - Since Lyle Koehler's link for the above
oscillator circuit is unavailable, I will not be building this
oscillator.
If you build it and test it please attach your results to the project link up above.
